With a creek, swamp, lake, and forest, Hamlin Woods Conservation Area in Wayland, MA. offers peace, wildlife, and inspiration. It is the source of many of my pond paintings, including this recent view. The music of early morning is lilting, full of song birds. By afternoon, frogs and subtler sounds predominate. It may take time, but eventually these visits to the pond might yield a different water music series, contrasting with the series that developed from visits to the coast. Enjoy!
