I’m pleased to announce that eleven new paintings are going to Arden Gallery this week for a new exhibit opening in July 2011, to be titled In the Vicinity of Blue.
The title refers to many things – the fact that all the paintings are informed by proximity to the ocean, clear blue skies, the way even gray skies are a form of blue. And the colors used to create them (aren’t the names of colors wonderful – ultramarine, cerulean, pthalocyanine, indigo, Prussian green and Prussian blue, indanthrone). Where does blue end and green take over? Blue – the color of calm, the color of a clear head, a refreshing color. In the Vicinity of Blue. I think you will enjoy the show. Preview it soon at www.ardengallery.com
Where does blue end and green take over? That’s easy… spring!
