When I finished the painting Ode to Another Dawn, I wondered how the same scene would feel if the wave were about to break. How would the emotional tone of the painting change? Would there be more or less tension? Of course the only way to find out is to paint the same day with the next wave coming in. That is the premise of Clearing toward Noon. Other subtle changes include the first hint of the promised blue sky and a general calming of the sea. Enjoy!
