I had a friend who fell in love with this piece of Scituate, Massachusetts coastline, and introduced me to its charms. This is the beach as she first walked it with me, before a number of terrible northeasters revealed the stony substrate. It is a generous piece of shoreline, with hummocks of peat and dune grass making a slow advance. I love the abstract patterns created by the changing tides, and the warm tone of the sand. Even on a blustery March morning, I can pretend to be there with her. Enjoy!
