The complex layerings of life in a wetland are only slowly revealed. I’ve been visiting my favorite pond and swamp for years now, and I still discover new spaces where life thrives. In the beginning, I studied the trees and their reflections, but now it’s the life on top of and below the water that facinates me. The pattern on pattern color field yields a certain abstract quality to this very real representation. It’s easy to get lost in the nuances while working on such a painting, but then getting lost is the only way to find a place like this. Enjoy!
Majestic! The space in this painting is not bound by its edges.
