With fall fading, I’m holding on a little longer by painting the beautiful colors I saw at my favorite ponds over the past few months. This painting, titled A Modest Pond, expresses the complexity and simplicity one so often finds on a walk. The subject isn’t dramatic, but the life fostered by such an environment is rich and full of sound. As the season and water level shift, all sorts of new growth takes hold. In fact, there is a merging of land and water that I find exciting to paint. Add a few drops of rain, and the mood becomes even more contemplative and gentle. Enjoy!
This pond need not hide its light under a bushel- it is gorgeous! Wonderful painting.
