Working with reflections, I often feel as though I’m standing in multiple places recording observations. I’m above and (imagining) I’m below. I’m here and also over there, on the other bank. I’m looking down into the water and seeing snippets of sky and tree tops. And then there’s the frog’s eye view skimming the surface of the  pond.

With Looking Inside Summer, I was primarily interested in the far trees’ reflections and the sheen of water interspersed with the pond’s vegetation. The sense of depth, of looking into the soul of summer, was a revelation.  The complexity of pattern and rich tones are also suggestive of the abundance of life at this time of the year. Enjoy!
