The beauty of early September is its cross-over quality. The beginnings of gold and russet next to an abundance of late greens. I can still find sprightly frogs and a few water lilies at the pond, too. Autumn’s Mirror looks across the water’s surface and down into the foreground depths of lily stems and partially submerged pads. The reflected trees provide additional color and contrast. Details from the painting are below.
Autumn’s Mirror will be featured at my open studios October 14 and November 16 & 17 at Fenway Studios, 30 Ipswich Street, Boston, MA, USA 02215 (UPDATE: AUTUMN’S MIRROR WILL BE IN A SOLO SHOW OF MY PAINTINGS AT GALERIE SONO IN OCTOBER, 2013.)
