TM8420 Astral Lily 12×12 oil on panel

My paintings originate in the study and observation of nature, but equal to observation is maintaining a sense of wonder and imagination. Astral Lily is based on a modest lily at my pond in Hamlen Woods, but only in a painting does a lily have a chance to experience night and the mystery of stars. Maybe that is art’s gift. I want my lilies to be wonder full. Maybe painting restores my sense of wonder too. Enjoy!
