Sometimes, a painting is an assemblage of details designed to create the impression of disassembling – as in the case of this wave breaking. The nuances of churning water are evidence of  energy being released – the great ahhh moment. More signs of transition include clouds above the horizon breaking up and blowing away. Everything in this painting is moving  – water and air surely, but even sound seems to be moving toward us, along with the potential for feeling drenched. Details below. Enjoy!
