Early May, and while the trees aren’t really green yet, there is green duckweed giving a hint of the colors due shortly. I am delighted to report that George’s wife, Mrs. George, is back this year. Her morning float into the heart of the duckweed will bring a delicious breakfast. Welcome back! Visiting the pond several times a week for so many years gives me a real appreciation for those things that change and those that remain.  Seeing the ducks is a pleasure. Watching some trees lose their footing due to the heavy rain and flooding (and losing a favorite vantage spot as a result) was disheartening. But the pond always finds a way to delight me, and always offers something wonderful to paint. Enjoy!
