April Comes, April Goes is a summation of the month in its title. The colors of bare branches, the early warmth of a robin’s egg blue sky, the rich russets of light reaching under the melted water and revealing the debris of last autumn, and of course the first twinges of green in the reflections from the far bank and on the water’s surface. How I love the density and color of this extraordinary time of year. The layers of pattern on pattern on pattern weave themselves into a seemingly abstract image, but on close inspection, every gesture and line records a physical fact from the pondscape. Details below. Enjoy!
