A Song for July brings anticipation of summer into focus. Exuberant waves, the smell of sea air, and the hypnotic sound of waves crashing onto a sandy beach are all celebrated in this new painting. I especially wanted to play with the horizon, letting it disappear into low clouds, peek out, then disappear again. Details below show the mix of techniques used in the waves. Enjoy.
