TM8683 High Tide Comes In 36×36 oil on panel
Visiting Bass Rocks in Gloucester is always a treat – the rugged coastline and blue expanse are bracing, while the subtleties of atmosphere make me want to linger and memorize every drift of vapor. High Tide Come In says it all. I visited the day after a storm. Waves were thumping the rocks and headlands, sending vibrations up from my feet and in through my ears as I looked down the incline toward the waterline. Sunshine lit the granite with a honeyed glow. I knew this day would become a painting. Detail below. Enjoy.
