August Slips Past

TM8728 August Slips Past 36×48 oil on panel

An August day with hardly a sound, and I’m staring into the quiet, shallow water of the pond. It’s still summer, but the slant of the light speaks to the coming season. Green-golds and hints of orange tell me fall is already looking to fill the spaces where summer retreats. The air is still warm and moist – no harsh shadows.  August Slips Past looks at the last slow days of August, before restless work and school resume – a sacred time we all want to savor. Detail below. Enjoy.
