A Day at Good Harbor and Watching the Waves Roll In

This week I saluted fall by painting my way into the woods with reds and yellows. I also said good-by to summer by finishing a pair of 36×40″ oils from Gloucester, Massachusetts. One painting is all about anticipation as the rollers come in, the other is about the release – the crash and roar, which I will miss. Of course there’s always the possibility of painting winter’s waves, but the ice, the gales, and the need for heavy gloves makes it a very different experience. Au revoir summer.
