It only takes a few days hovering around zero degrees before you suddenly find yourself aching for warmth. Glory Golds is a look back to September weather, and the peculiar beauty of yellow gold seen against cool grays and gray blues. It’s also part of my continuing investigation of the way yellow works – how it can psychologically lift the mood of a painting. The view of overhanging vegetation and reflected trees comes from a walk along the Muddy River with my dog, in the heart of the Fenway neighborhood in Boston, just as the sky was clouding over. Enjoy.
