Only Here, Only Now

Only Here, Only Now – is that a definition for mindfulness? Or is it a description of certainty? I think it can be both. What I do know is that each and every sensory experience is unique, and the pleasure of being a painter is that I can savor the moments as they happen and as I paint them. In fact, it is only through memory and the context of elapsed time that the truly deepest sensory experiences come to the surface of awareness. A conundrum. I love the place, and all it is, but only know how much I love it when I’m away – and only truly “see” it later, as it evolves into a painting. Enjoy.
