Sometimes it’s like a note to myself – the opportunity to record a particular moment on an ordinary day, so I will remember it later – maybe include some aspect in a larger painting. Or it might be like doodling with paint – pushing it around until something starts to happen. Either way, it’s all part of being a painter. Enjoy.
