Rounding the corner on summer – tonight the forecast is for a chilly night in the 50’s – hurrah! This most recent Last Days of Summer painting depicts the pond with lingering morning shadows. I suspect the next will have more yellow! Enjoy.
Hi Annerose. I usually use one coat of clear shellac front and back. Occasionally I use one coat of acrylic gesso front and back. I either case I use a cheap “chip” brush from the hardware store (natural bristle, from China). As for the paper – usually 140 pound rag watercolor paper, occasionally stonehenge drawing and printmaking paper. Basically, I’ve been using up my inventory of paper from the days when I was doing watercolors and prints.
so nice, how do you prepare your paper for oil?
