The Crescendo oil paintings are investigations of the energy in waves. Each painting starts with an abstract gesture created with dark oil paint in the manner of a monoprint. Paint is rolled onto a 6×6″ panel, then the image is created by removing the paint selectively with rags, brushes, and solvents. When this first layer is dry, the image is further developed using traditional oil painting techniques.
